Roora & Lobola Decor Hire in Zimbabwe

A roora (also called kuroora or lobola) is the traditional Shona marriage negotiation ceremony where the groom's family pays bride price (roora) to the bride's family. It is a deeply respected cultural process in Zimbabwe and involves formal negotiations, gift-giving and celebration. The danga (cattle price) and other payments are discussed by the munyai (go-between). Whether the ceremony is held at a rural homestead or a suburban garden in Borrowdale, the setup needs to reflect the importance of the occasion.

We supply and set up everything the ceremony space needs — from tenting and seating for family elders to draped negotiation areas and decorated celebration spaces.

Our roora and lobola ceremony hire includes:

— Peg-and-pole tents or frame marquees for the gathering — Plastic chairs or garden chairs for large family groups — Tables for negotiations, gifts display and catering — Draping in traditional colours or African print themes — Cultural decor elements — dhuku fabric styling, African print table runners and sashes — Centrepieces with a traditional or rustic feel — Catering equipment — chafing dishes, crockery, cutlery and serving ware — PA system for announcements and music

We deliver to venues across Harare — Borrowdale, Glen Lorne, Mount Pleasant, Greendale, Budiriro, Highfield, Mbare, Glen View — and throughout Zimbabwe including Chitungwiza, Marondera, Bulawayo, Mutare and Masvingo.

Many roora ceremonies are coordinated by family members in the diaspora — from the UK, USA, South Africa, Australia and Canada. We work regularly with overseas clients via WhatsApp and email, coordinating with your munyai or local family contact to ensure the setup is right.
